Celebration of Louis-Edouard Cestac at Notre Dame de Burlada College (Spain)

Like every year on this date, the Notre Dame school in Burlada celebrates our founder Louis-Edouard Cestac, feeling part of the great family that he built and that is present today, with the Servants of Mary, on four continents.

In the morning, the religious celebration began in the school hall, bringing together the primary and secondary students and their teachers: "Come to the party", all those present sang in chorus, announcing a great day of celebration for the school. They say: "This is our Founder". The students had prepared paintings of the father Cestac's life, offerings and prayers which they presented at the altar.

The priest who presided over the celebration asked: "Louis-Edouard, tell us what you carry in your heart...?" Louis-Edouard quickly answered the call:

  • I carry Mary, she has done everything in my life...
  • Mary has always guided my steps and my decisions...
  • She who put in my heart all the love I had to give to all the poor, the abandoned, the needy that I met on my way....
  • All the work I did in caring for these disadvantaged people was Mary's work... because I never did anything without her. That's why every time I decided to do something, a total certainty accompanied me.... I knew it was what Mary wanted, and I knew she was with me to realise it.
  • Mary's presence in my life was so great that, even though I couldn't see her, I felt her like a horse feels the hand of the rider who is leading it.
  • Always entrust yourself to Mary!

The celebration ended with this prayer to Mary, inspired by the prayer of Louis Edouard Cestac and prayed by all together:

The day continued with festive activities for all: games, sports, youth theatre for the little ones, fancy dress...
