The 60 years Jubilee of religious life of Sr Germaine and Sr Janine...

On the occasion of the gathering of the volunteers of the Shrine at Buglose on Sunday 19/02/23, Father Thomas Ado, rector, and the parishioners gave thanks for the 60 years Jubilee of religious life of Sr Germaine and Sr Janine.

Dear Sister Janine, dear Sister Germaine, today we celebrate with you your 60 years of religious life!

Like Father Louis-Édouard Cestac, you both come from the Basque Country, not far from Notre Dame du Refuge, the cradle of your congregation. And, as your name indicates, "Servants of Mary", the Virgin Mary is your mother and your model of spiritual life.

For the past 60 years, your consecrated life has been a witness to the primacy of Christ in your lives... He who called you to follow him, who chose you. You have remained faithful to his message, to his love for you, and you are happy about it.

This beautiful jubilee also bears witness to the generosity, courage and commitment in the various missions and responsibilities that have been entrusted to you and which have enabled you to give the best of yourselves.

Today, in Buglose, forming with Sister Maryse the community of sisters, there is much to do, at the shrine and in the parish, and you have always had at heart to insert yourselves into the social and local fabric. Carried and supported by prayer, under the gaze of Our Lady of Buglose, you live, on a daily basis, benevolence, welcome and sharing with the inhabitants and all the "pilgrims" passing through.

To celebrate a jubilee is to remember how far we have come!

As it is said in the presentation of your congregation: "As a stream does not return to its source, Religious Life is a path of evangelical life and happiness; to give one's life to Christ and to seek to follow him with others, in community, is always worth it!

The parish assembly gathered today, together with friends from Buglose and beyond, say a big Thank You to you, Sister Janine and Sister Germaine. Thank you for your testimony of life given, thank you for your devotion, your sharing. We are grateful for all that you do and wish you much more time, service and presence among us.
